Three Educational Changes in the Past Five Years

In the past five years, our world has seen many changes, perhaps nowhere as prominent as in the education system in America. As we move through the technology age and recognize the lasting impact of NCLB (No Child Left Behind), the way we teach and the way we learn has radically changed. Reflecting on three educational changes in the past five years, including the Education Affordability Reconciliation Act, can help us understand where our education system is heading.

Technology In The Classroom

Long gone are the days of the chalk board and even the white board. Today’s classrooms are utilizing technology to teach in a much more effective manner. PowerPoint presentations, laptops, eBook readers and more are just a few of the technologies that teachers are implementing in today’s classrooms. This change addresses the need to teach students on their level, utilizing technology that they are excited about and familiar with. It has created a new level of willingness to learn among many students.

Better Grades, Better Pay

How many of today’s parents pay a premium to their children when they bring home good grades? This concept has begun to cross the line in the form of teacher performance pay. Some school districts are moving away from the old concept of pay based on years served to system that relies more on incentive-based pay. Teachers who are going the distance with their students will make more money. This move is designed to attract a higher quality of teachers for students everywhere.

Education Affordability Reconciliation

The government is changing the way they treat education as well. In 2010, an act was passed designed to appropriate funds for the Federal Pell Grant Program and to develop new grants, such as the College Access Challenge Program, for students across the country. Additionally, investment in predominantly black universities and colleges has been increased. The funds are earmarked for low-income minorities and will improve their access to higher education. Education affordability reconciliation will make higher education an affordable proposition for more students than ever before.

These changes have already begun to impact our students and will continue to do so. Parents with school-aged children are encouraged to question their local district to see how technology and incentive pay has been implemented. Students headed for college should work with a financial aid counselor to take full advantage of the changes to the government grant program. What changes have you seen in your school district over the past five years?

Overheating of the PC is a common problem amongst many PC users. Desktop computers and laptops have fans. Fans cool the computer like how fans cool the engine of a vehicle. Yet, overheating happens. Somehow the air circulation might not wash away excessive heat.

There are some basic causes of overheating. When there is some restriction to the movement of the fan in a computer, the computer can get overheated. A desktop PC may not have the facility of being in air conditioned rooms like servers. Servers are placed in air conditioned rooms. The cool air from these rooms is drawn by the fan in the server.

A computer can also overheat because of a faulty fan system. The fan might have been damaged. A damaged fan is often hard to detect. Unless the user opens the computer and sees, there is no way of knowing.

Overheating can be caused by certain processors. These processors do not have the ability to control heat. There could also be cases when the processor is overloaded with a lot of requests to accomplish at a single point of time. For example, you could be playing online high-definition video games, and at the same time downloading movies. In this situation, the processor will definitely increase its temperature.

To prevent overheating, place the computer is a place where there is adequate air circulation. Do not let the vents from where the fans suck in air be obstructed. Use a vacuum cleaner to dust the internals of the computer regularly.

A printer is a peripheral hardware device that prints data to sheets of paper. A printer might face some common problems. All of which have a solution. Unlike computers, printers are often overlooked for IT maintenance. Printers can be repaired almost all the time. There would be nothing like a permanent problem or an unknown problem. If it were, there is always the option of letting manufacturers know about it.

Here are some common printer problems and their fixes. All solutions are broad, as there are numerous printers and models.

Slow printing

The problem here is that printer performance is slow. To make printer performance go up you need to get into printer settings and reduce quality of printing. This means printer quality is changed from normal to fast draft. If this does not work then you have to increase the RAM on the printer.

Prints is not dark enough

This may be due to a jammed print head. A problem that inkjet printers face. Jammed print head has dried ink. To clear this there could be a program that cleans this out. After which, you can print a test page to check. To check for the utility app, refer the help manual of the printer’s driver, or check on the Internet on how to locate this printer’s utility app.

Printing is too slow on the wireless printer

A wireless printer is slower than a wired printer. In fact very slow. The best possible solution is to bring the printer closer to the Wi-Fi router.
